Hi there!

Hello! My name is Kevin Costello. I am an artist.

Born and raised near Cleveland and now living in Cincinnati to study engineering. It took me some time before I believed I could call myself that – an artist. I hesitated because I thought art had to be my only occupation for it to be considered true. I finally realized that it’s what I’ve always wanted to be, even though I’ve known as early as when I first answered the “when I grow up” question in grade school. I thought that by choosing to study engineering in college, I had somehow chosen a path that didn’t include art anymore. But to me art is inescapable; I have since learned of all the ways that I can combine my love for problem solving and critical thinking with my passion for creating and making things.

The latest step in my journey has been realizing a love for sharing my art with people and the personal connection it creates. At first, I grew to love sharing my art with one viewer at a time because it felt the most personal, being able to see their reactions and hear their thoughts in real time. But I am beginning to see the potential for technology to help my art reach so many more people while still fostering that personal connection. The time and energy I spend putting art into the world can impact so many more people than I can imagine if I start using all the resources that are available.

I am now seeking to learn more about these resources and skills including social media, marketing myself, new technologies, and entrepreneurship. Painting with these new colors will help me to bring my art to more people while it remains apart of myself and can create the personal connections between me and those reached by my art. My brushstrokes have the ability to go so much deeper than the canvas and I am excited to continue learning and creating.
